Alight, its accountability time. I am hoping this post can be a bit more interactive since I could definitely use your help and expertise in a couple areas. I started this blog as part of my 2018 New Year’s resolutions; so to keep myself honest and as a friendly reminder to those who set goals with me here is a quick round up, and a plea to hold me accountable!! 5 STEPS TO A MORE SUCCESSFUL 2018 Here is a link to my methodology if you missed my first post. It’s not too late to join, my one recommendation is to reduce the Weekly goal from 52x to 35x since we are already 17 weeks into the year.
- Charge my phone from 5-8pm, M-F
Terrible, Terrible, Terrible. I am failing miserably at this one, and I am on year two of this goal. The whole idea is to put my phone down so I can be present for my boys during the hours that we are together and I am feeling pretty darn guilty that this has not been easier for me to do. I seriously need to reign in my iphone, does anyone have a tip to help me curb the phone use?? I even bought this cute charging station and I still can’t get my act together. - Volunteer 4x at Parker & Dawson’s School
I am on track for this one, phew! I volunteered to chaperon Parker’s class Ski Trip in January and we had a great day skiing together on the slopes. I am making plans to do another day at their school this spring.
- Start a Blog
I think everyone is pretty up to date on this one, J blog is live (THANK YOU for reading!) I am aiming to post once per week and enjoy taking my time crafting each post. Since I am fitting these in after the boys are in bed and before I crash for the night I don’t have a ton of time each week. It was quite the learning curve to initially launch and I actually created two entire sights first with Blogger (Google’s Platform) and then with WordPress which ended up having much better functionality. What’s up next: Photography is an area of opportunity for me so I am super excited to partner with @savannah_brown_photography to help me capture more shots in and around the town of Stowe. - 4x Spa Days
On track with this one, but would you expect anything less?? We had an amazing Stowe Spa Day with the “Party Moms” to celebrate Emily and the birth of her daughter Zoe. We planned to do our spa day prior to Baby N’s arrival but she arrived a month early so we postponed until just before Emily went back to work for an extra special celebration; any new mom knows going back to work is so hard and time with girlfriends is the only remedy. Spa days are the best days.
- 52 Core Workouts
OK, so I was cranking along on this one, doing my little Pop Sugar ab workouts until I hit a full pause. At the spa day referenced above I learned about postpartum stomach muscle separation and that certain exercises can make it worse. I haven’t had time to research what exercises I should be doing so I haven’t done anything at all since that outing. The good news is that I can easily catch myself back up so if anyone can dispel the mystery of what ab work I should be doing it would be GREATly appreciated J
